This TCAA project is complete! Sponsored by Jakes Air Repair, Jay Carter and Hans Bayer along with our IT specialist Dave, we have installed a web cam on the west side of the airport available for airport users to identify weather conditions and campground use! Check it out here:
The TCAA is working towards providing aviation scholarships available to different youth groups.
The Columbia Airport added frisbee golf podiums to the campground in 2021. Many fly-in visitors are unaware this is something that is open for them to use. We want to supply frisbees and a place to store them when not in use.
Many members have envisions a bicycle rack or shed with various sized bicycles available to fly-in visitors. This would include tire pumps and helmets for free use by fly-in visitors! We are looking for sponsors and a project leader to bring this project to completion!
Columbia Airport has a need for an airport generated waste dumpster. Since the county does not provide this for the airport users, the TCAA wants to sponsor this service for its users! More memberships in the TCAA could make this a sustainable regular service!
This project is sponsored and is awaiting vehicle gate repairs prior to completion.
The TCAA is working to co-sponsor Fly-In and community movie night at Columbia Airport in Summer 2022!
The Campground Pavilion was built by TCAA Members and Resources 40 years ago, For the last 20 years it has been managed by the county and is in disrepair. We have secured significant donations to various improvements to the pavilion. Negotiations with the county are ongoing.
The TCAA relys 100% on donations oand volunteer efforts, but its much harder to get volunteers to step up! Consider joining the TCAA and help us to benefit aviation in Tuolumne County!
